So here we are, back again in Melksham for the next module on the course - Nutrition and the Environment.
Our tutor for today and tomorrow morning is Clare MacLeod, an independent registered equine nutritionist. https://equinenutritionist.co.uk/…
We've been discussing what constitutes a balanced diet today, the nutrients needed and the huge impact forage has on the diet.
When people are looking to balance the horses diet for the workload required, forage can be overlooked. As forage constitutes such a large part of the horses diet it's nutritional content needs to be considered before deciding on a balancer, broad spectrum supplement or compound feed.
There are of course so many different choices but tomorrow we will be discussing some of these in greater detail.
